AFF seems to be paying for ad space or providing affiliate accounts to numerous sites that illegally rip off and repost adult content, depriving the content owners of profits from their content, and allowing pirate sites to flourish.

These sites oversaturate the web with so-called free porn, when in fact AFF ad/affiliate sales seem to be their main source of income. In esscence it appears that Lars/AFF is profiteering from sites that steal/pirated content by underwriting their efforts through their ad/affiliate program.

Lars, I don't have a hard on for you personally. We have only met very briefly a few times at industry events and exchanged cordial acknowledgements.

I assure you, what issues I do have with some of your business practices, do not involve some anonymous person you do not like, whom you think I am friends with (whomever that is - BTW, you have my permission to say whomever you think it is since you brought it up, especially since you think it is someone that is gone from the business...I honestly don't know who you are talking about).

I operate my business pretty independently, and rarely work or socialize with industy people (aside from models, photography/video assistants, and a few content providers, etc, that contribute to my business). Besides, I can't think of anyone I ever knew in the biz, that is no longer in the biz - well, besides Donny, however I think it should be obvious that he and I don't see eye to eye on much of anything since he did his born-again thing).

My friends, most of whom are not in the adult industry, would be the first to tell you that I am an independent thinker, who can and will argue passionately, even with friends, about any issue I feel strongly about, without that diminishing our friendship. They will also tell you that I am capable of admitting I am wrong when presented with compelling facts that prove that the point I was defending was in error.

All things considered, given your position in the industry and mine, I would rather be on your good side. I may be opinionated, but I'm not (too) stupid (LOL).

With that said, I have never been someone to kowtow to or brown-nose to others. You have enough people blowing smoke up your ass and telling you that you are legendary in an effort to somehow try and get themselves ahead - that's not my style. I may be a pain in the ass at times, but I generally manage to win the respect of most reasonable and rational people I disagree with, on the basis of my integrity and ability to detach my ego from my opinions/decisionmaking (I'm human, so not always, but I try like hell, damn it).

Lars (or a proxy posting on his behalf, as I suspect), implied that the very relevent points I made in my first post in this thread were somehow influenced by some unidentified former-industry person he dislikes and believes is a friend of mine.

As I tried to indicate, that is patently false.

I still stand my opinion which I advanced in my first post in this thread:

So far all Lars has offered up in response is smoke and mirrors - hence my who is the mystery person (?) post.

The more pertinent issue is how Lars and AFF can be a member in good standing within the adult industry, when by the proof presented thus far, he/AFF rewards and encourages sites that steal content from exclusive content producers, only for his own benefit, and to the detriment of the specific sites affected, and the industry at large.

I'm a webmaster with my own TGP's...do my surfers get Zango spyware because I have AFF iframes ads and FHG's on my sites? I also sent directly to AFF.

Or do I not understand what Zango does?
1) zango = spyware
2) AFF uses zango to earn some extra $
3) I link to AFF so I link to spyware

I am over the whole Zango thing, to be honest I don't promote AFF and never will, so whatever Lars wants to he can have at it....the arguing and name calling is just silly anymore

the only thing I have a real issue with is the fact that password trading sites and torrent sites are totally funded by AFF and AdBrite, but I don't see any of my content on there for now, so I am just going to say fuck it until it directly affects me, isn't that the old school way?

Zango is a self installing ad serving application, and people can bid on keywords for the popups it generates....so if I went in and bid on the term "Bang Brothers", any time someone with a Zango'ed PC typed in Bang Brothers into IE, Zango would pop up and show them my ad over top of their regularly scheduled browser window

1. Alot of illegal sites out there (for example torrent sites like thepiratebay) are able to stay in business because companies like AdultFriendFinder and SexSearch support them. AFF for example systematicaly continues to accept traffic from those illegal sites and by doing so actively supports content theft.

2. AFF and Sexsearch also do business with a spyware company called Zango.

the most important aspect is not "bidding on keywords" - its bidding on URL's... i.e. cams.com bids on yoursite.com and everytime an user opens yoursite.com, a window pops with a bunch of cams.com/aff ads on it.

lars was busted not only doing this, but also overwriting the cookies in the process.

So then, some dude gets infected with zango and then comes to my site with AFF on it, they get a pop up with new AFF links AND SexSearch links that have someone else's refcodes?

oh, its comfirmed all right. there have been a good number of people posting screen shots of this. do a search for zango and aff and i'm sure you'll find them.

if you really want to see for yourself take an old computer, install zango on it and see what happens.
