What's the Wii have to do with anything? Wii is not next Gen. XBOX and PS2 have more games than the Wii so I gues they are better than the Wii.
Hey try watching some blu-ray movies on your PS3. Have a PSP? Did you know you can download PS1 games to you PS3 and play them on your PSP? The games are coming Jesus Christ. You act like no more games will ever be made.
I remember when the 360 came out. No many games for that system either.Comment

Sony's spending too much time with protecting the amount of hype they've built before the PS3 was released. All they have to do is just stop whining about it and start attract game developers.
Nintendo did a good job of focusing away from the 8-bit, 16-bit, 32-bit, 64-bit, gazillion-bit trend that the video game industry was on for so long.Comment

just a related sidenote, you don't need a PS3 to get those antique PSX games onto your PSP, there is a firmware hack available that allows you to rip your own PSX games and play them from memorystick on the PSP, bypassing Sonys ridiculously overpriced small selection of PSX games and allowing you to run *any* PSX you like. i still own many PSX titles and i'll be damed if i'm going to pay Sony *again* for the privilege to play games i already own on a console... its just an emulator, no rewrite or porting done whatsoever..
i can say that between all my consoles lately the PSP has gotten the most playtime by far, lots of killer PSX titles to choose from and they look great on the PSPs small screen... 40 hours deep in Final Fantasy 8 right now (not available for purchase from Sony btw).....promise her a defamation, tell her where the rain will fall..Comment

The PS3 launch here in Australia was a very underwhelming. A friend of mine works at a game store called EB Games. They had the whole midnight launch thing. Store was open from 10pm to 1am. They didn't even have a single person lined up outside the store before they had opened. They've had lines of nearly 200 people for some XBox 360 game releases.
And apparently in Sydney at the main Australian Launch, media and staff outnumbered customers for a couple of hours into the launch. The price is just ridiculous, especially here in Australia.
It's AU$1000, which is currently nearly US$80026 + 6 = 1Comment

That sounds pretty fucking awesome! RPG's play ok on that small of a screen? I may get one just to play FF7 with lol.just a related sidenote, you don't need a PS3 to get those antique PSX games onto your PSP, there is a firmware hack available that allows you to rip your own PSX games and play them from memorystick on the PSP, bypassing Sonys ridiculously overpriced small selection of PSX games and allowing you to run *any* PSX you like. i still own many PSX titles and i'll be damed if i'm going to pay Sony *again* for the privilege to play games i already own on a console... its just an emulator, no rewrite or porting done whatsoever..

The PS3 just came out here in Denmark a few days ago. But the damn thing costs about 900 bucks. Thats insane. I could buy a perfectly good PC at that price.Comment

I got a ps3 and I've been happy with it. I couldn't be less intrested in wii, and I never liked xbox360 when I played with it at a friends place.
...what REALLY annoys me though, is the masses of fuckheads who don't seem to have anything else to do than whine about PS3 and praise wii/xbox360...and I'm off.Comment

I don't understand how people can even compare PC's to Consoles.
a) You CAN get a PC for the same price, but if you want a 'top-end' machine, your goddamn graphics card costs the same as a next gen console.
b) You need to worry whether your DirectX version is right, does the game support 4 cores, are your controllers compatible etc etc... consoles are so much easier. They are 'up to date' until they die...and I'm off.Comment

i bought mine mainly for the bluray dvd player to be honest. I was gonig to buy a stand alone model and the guy told me that to just buy the PS3 and save a couple hundred and you get a game system.
Ive played one game on it, but dont like it nearly as much as the 360 or WiiEmail: Clicky on MeComment

I bought my PS3 back in Dec and I use it every day as a blue ray player and for watching my other dvds.. As it has been said before it is much cheaper then a stand alone blue ray player and now that they have a remote out for it you can use it as a normal player..
I was bummed at the limited games at first but I'm not really a gamer anyways but I love the HD that Blue ray gives me

Me too, I bought a full-hd 42" with my PS3 and the blu-ray movies look absolutely stunning. I don't play games much, but it's nice to have a multimediacenter-sort of thingy that CAN play good games if I feel like playing.I bought my PS3 back in Dec and I use it every day as a blue ray player and for watching my other dvds.. PlayStation 3 was launched too soon if you ask me,they`ve should waited for some games to be released on this platform...Comment
-
lol, you got it backwards... PS3 launched too *late*, around a year late. they held up everything so they could get the blueray drive into them, which really hurt the platform as its turned out... aside from the astronomical price point they are losing developers and even worse, their exclusive deals. recent weeks have shown that both the Final Fantasy and MGS franchise are going multi-platform, pretty obviously due to the small installed base of PS3s and the fact they aren't moving off of shelves.
sony got greedy, plain and simple, and couldn't resist using the PS3 as a vehicle for trying to push a new media format... and their paying the price for it now. but for us consumers its all good, at best Sony losing out on a generation will give them good motivation to really be competitive and come back in a good way for PS4.....promise her a defamation, tell her where the rain will fall..Comment
