nope, not nearly all updates require reboots, most constantly being updated definitions for defender - w/o reboots, usually i would have that thing disabled but it doesn't bother me at all. in regards to other updates some do require reboots but not like you make it sound "nearly all" of them. and now I've seen some updates (probably ms office) that won't bug you with reboot popups but rather show exclamation sign at "shutdown" button in start menu, e.g. updates that patiently and quietly wait for the next reboot/shutdown opp.
as i said in other thread the other day i take good care of my systems without wasting much time. and now you are in amazement the we may not know or ever run the Update
