I used to jump in my car almost every day and take off for something to do. I'd drive 100 miles with no problem. Because of the economy it's no longer in my budget so I find myself looking for simple and cheap things to do at home to keep me busy.
Lately I've been building stuff and my latest project is a racing chair to use with a steering wheel for an xbox 360. I saw you could buy them online for about $300 and I decided I'd make one myself so I went down to Home Depot, bought some wood, made a design and went to making it happen. I'm no handyman but it's been fun working on it and it's a great time filler. If you have the desire to make things it's a great way to spend time and you have something very gratifying in the process.
You said you take a walk so why not take your camera with you, look at the countryside in a different way and take pictures that you wouldn't normally take. Bring them back home and post them here telling and showing us what you experienced. I'm sure people will be interested in seeing what you come up with and look forward to what you bring next.
Whatever you choose, keep up the fight. You know you will get better and it's just a matter of time. I hope you find a way to pass time faster
