    buying an ipod....

I want a 60-80gig ipod. I don't care if it's video or not, I just want it for mp3s. What should I expect to pay and where is the best place to buy it? I don't want to wait on eBay (unless it's buy it now) because I want to buy right now. Any advice? thanks

Where do you live? iPod prices here in England are pretty much the same wherever you go. My gf got a 4gb Nano at B&H Photography in New York for $200, which is a fair bit cheaper than we can get them here.

I'm not going to put videos on it, only mp3s. That's why I think the 60gb will be a better choice. The 80gb has a brighter screen which I'm sure is great for videos, but since I'm only using it for mp3s I should go with the 60gb because the brighter screen drains your battery quicker.

you say that now but you never know .. once you get it you may change your mind.

I have a 20gb older one .. I have tons of music on it and only used about 10gbs. if your only going to use it for music just get a smaller one. it will be dirt cheap. I use my PSP for movies and love it. but if you travel a lot go for the Video ..

I have a normal iPod (non video), but was thinking about getting the vid one. I'll have a few longs flights this year, but can't decide whether to get a PSP instead, and just keep my iPod that i have just now aswell...

It's working out great for me .. I have my old Ipod for docking in the kitchen and in the car with all my music on it and when i fly or even at my desk I watch Movies. I have a 4gb card and I can bring like 7-8 really good quality movies on that ( they sell mini dvds for it but i just rip them with a $29 program .. it's great) I also carry a few hours of music and pics of the family. all in a case with a few PSP games. It also has the browser in it so i could hook up to wireless in the hotel and check my email .. it's pretty cool

I don't know if you have kids but i have 2 and bought 2 psp's .. I have head rest clips in my wifes car and when we go on long trips my 9yr old watches his movies and the 2 year old can watch Elmo and anything else i Rip onto his card. works out great and the battery life is good

I think I'm going to buy a refurbished 60 gig from apple. They only have them in stock in white but oh well. Comes out to $245.03
I think I'm going to order it.

                          Refurbished?

Would they put a new battery in it?

60 Gig? What the hell do you listen to?

I like my Zune a lot ($250). It's only 30 gigs though, but can be modded with a bigger HD.

I just bought a 30G iPod and love it. I have vids, pics, and music on there. The nanos look and feel like they are cheap and break easy. I used to have a mini and that thing was better quality then a nano.
