There is an agreement in place but nothing has been finalized yet. When it comes to the Japanese nothing is set in stone until the paperwork is signed. That being said the agreement is supposed to be with the Fertitta's directly, and not through Zuffa which I know they own but makes a big difference as far as whether or not Pride is consolidated.
In other words, the plan is supposed to be find executives in Japan to run Pride for them as a separate entity and then have crossover shows/superfights when necessary.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, or the fact Pride is rumored to have alot of debt and they simply didn't want it tied to Zuffa.
Either way I hope the work to rebuild it like the Pride once was, selling out 60k+ seat arenas and get another TV deal.

I have absolutely zero inside info on this other than what I've read, but I wonder if the Fertitta's will have a much easier time getting Pride back on Fuji TV since they are a new ownership group with no alleged Yakuza ties. I love all MMA but Pride has always been my favorite to watch, and I would be ecstatic to see them back where they belong.
very cool .. the quality of fights will improve big time. I didn't read the entire thread .. are they going to be one company and all fighters fight UFC or two companies that cross fighters. does this mean that Pride will take on the octagon ring ... will UFC fight in Japan? ..will the quality and manner that the pride fights are shot improve to be of the same quality as UFC? I'd love to know what effects it will have ..

Everything that I've read so far, and granted that's not saying much, is that Pride will be run almost exclusively in Japan as a separate entity, with all of their rules and the ring intact. The Fertitta's will have a group of Japanese executives run it for them, and they will have occasional crossover shows and superfights.
