Just a word of warning - the guy is an absolute crook - I signed up for an account, and put a deposit from paypal for $50 - I then found out problems with their service.

I asked for a refund from Dmitry - and his response is he cannot refund full amount - minus some bullshit fees (that are his own) then he said he cannot even send back because his paypal account is restricted.

If anyone knows more - please post.

the other side is that he says his paypal account is restricted - he can only recieve money

and his solution is for me to host with him
or he will wire to me the funds and i have to pay for all of the bank fees - what a fucking joke

since the case seems very serious and the amount large, i think you should go to all the rest boards (mainstream ones included) and make new topics. A small banner @ yahoo would help to inform those that don't read boards or some radio announcements.

Hmmm..... that's a tough one. You could always go to Pay Pal and tell them what happend, but if you did that, they'd most likely pull that $50 back out of his account until the matter is settled in their eyes, which could be a loooooooooong time. You might have to eat the loss on that money just to salvage what you can from the $50.

it can cost half that amount to wire transfer, why should he pay u back 150% of your money. if his account is restricted it should have said that before you sent the money.

Is it only serious if someone is out $5000 or something?
Besides if the service cheated someone out of $50, they might screw others for more money.

I have seen several posts like japorno's in the past here and at the end the truth was different. Sorry but having a webmaster claiming for 50 lost bucks doesn't necessary makes the hosting company bad in my eyes.

I'm having the same problems with registerfly.com. I have sent them $30 by paypal (second time) and this time they haven't added the funds to my account yet. I mailed them and left trouble tickets and they were all ignored. I still haven't had a chance to talk to the guy, because everytime I call, the secretary says he's out of the office.

What do you guys suggest to do? Has anybody else experienced such problems?

And yeah, its true. $50 isn't a lot, and neither is $200 in the whole scheme of things. But getting ripped off sucks ass, you'll get mad no matter how much $ it is just because they decided to fuck you.

What the fuck? The host screwed up (as far as we know, at least). They need to do whatever it takes to get back the money. In full. To the customer.

I don't care if it costs them $1500 to take a plane and fly the guy a bucketful of god damned change, they need to pay back $50 if indeed they owe it.

I've taken hits like these many times before, it's just part of running a honest business that cares about customer service.

And I always thought people expected this level of service? Heh. I guess not.
