But the sad fact is that most people they harrass still act on it like they want.

99% of their actions are fuck ups and whenever a lawyer responds to their crap they back off.

In other words they are all bark and no bite.

Just ignore the fucks and they go away. And if not let a lawyer handle it and they will go away.

APIC is not a group of Lawyers, they are a bunch of idiots, Steve Easton nor Ray Callahaan are lawyers, just shit stirrers.

That may be true, but they desperately need another spokesperson for them.

I think someone out there watching out for content producers is great...but the person who is communicating on their behalf is making APIC look like a joke.

Get someone to speak for APIC instead of Steve Easton. That would probably improve APIC's image quite a bit in a very short amount of time.

It's not just their spokesperson that needs a good smackdown. Any organization's management that endorses the "rabid dog" technique for dealing with people obviously doesn't realize it's never going to grow beyond it's miniscule self by acting in that fashion.

It takes an extremely ignorant and short-sighted individual to allow a pissant employee to act that way in public. Acting like a 2nd grade schoolyard bully is really scary...in 2nd grade. Now it's just puffery raised to an art form.

But all is not lost; If, as Lee says, their big customers are Playboy and Penthouse then APIC will not be around much longer when those places go under. APIC is just a bunch of blowhards with no legal standing whatsoever. They can't initiate a lawsuit since they're not the holders of the copyright...hell as far as I know theyre not even lawyers. It's really easy to write a bunch of letters pretending to be "the law" when your target audience is clueless and can't defend themselves. All it takes is someone with a little more brains than the average content thief to realize this.

True. I know APIC has a lot of problems. But I do know at least one person in APIC and a couple of people associated with APIC, and they don't act like Easton at all. They're consumate professionals and they know their shit.

Like I said, I think if Easton was replaced as the mouthpiece for APIC it's image would improve greatly as the other people who are more professional and less like pissed off 9 year olds took over and came to the forefront.

Just my opinion though. I'm basing it on the other people I know associated with APIC. I could be wrong. *shrugs*

I can understand the "rabid dog" attitude when dealing directly with a proven image theif, but NOT with a third party, be it an affiliate program or host.

If they want to act that way with me, they better be ready eat some shit.

Joe, here's the thing though, it's my understanding that they turn on the rabid-dog act from the getgo, proof or no proof. I think the stuff we've seen from them in relation to your situation is indicative of that. A professional organization out to help the industry wouldn't act in that fashion.
