If we receive a credit back its automatically shows up in your account. Personally I tried to withdraw from a bank in Denmark and got no money but the money were deducted from my account, 2 days later the Pending charge were gone.
If we receive a credit back or a drop of the Pending charge then it happens automatically that the Pending charge is dropped from your account or the transaction is credited to your account.

If the transaction is showing as Pending on your statement because the merchant declined the transaction or for other reasons decided not to accept the transaction without telling us to drop the pending charge we have to hold the transaction for 30 days because according to Visa's rules the merchant have 30 days to settle the transaction after they authorize it. You local bank will drop it after a few days because they know you and are in the same country as you and if your account balance go negative they can easily come after you ass.
If we dropped Pending transactions after a few days it wouldn't take long before the scammers from some obscure country would try to capitalize on this as I mentioned above there is a reason that ePassporte is still around sometimes our rules suck but there are a reason for them for everyones sake.
