No those "laws" do not. They don't make you ONE bit "safer"
Freedom is freedom. End of story. You can't be a "little bit" free. Just like you can't be a little bit pregnant.
Criminals don't obey the law. The bad guys who would put "you and your family and neighborhood at risk" (so melodramatic sounding) could give two shits about ANY laws.
They are STILL gonna break in and kill you if they want to. No law is gonna change that.
The ONLY thing these laws do are take YOUR rights away from you.
I don't remember growing up and reading about the history of this country and seeing a part that read: "And the government will have the power to decide what you can and can't do and can make laws against 'just in case' things that may or may not happen"
Nope, I don't remember that dictatorship bullshit at all.
I remember growing up reading that we were FREE. And that we fought wars against countries that did that sort of thing.
