Free badges at Internext...now that I paid for it ?!

Just received an email from AVN saying it's the last day to register online.
We paid 250$ for a badge/person.

Today I get an email saying: Click on the Badge Only package. With promo code AVNVIPE, your badge wont be $350, it will be FREE* courtesy of AWEmpire.

Great initiative by AWE!!
But ... I feel like I got robbed by AVN here. They are asking 250$ for early birds, 350$ for late registration, but giving away a Free badge in their newsletter on the last day !!

Is it normal that I feel like I got screwed ?!?!

The only way I would even consider going to an AVN show at this point would be if the "badge was free" It would even be better if I could access the "event" without actually having to stay at the place it's being held and not getting charge to retarded fees the hotel tries to get away with.

Well... i can understand a sponsor giving it away... but If the AVN newsletter sent out the offer.... thats very lame.

Here buy this.... plus they push to get early birds... then they send a bingo day of free badges?

I think it's great from AWE to pick up badges. They accommodated us yesterday on one of the badges.

To be honest I didn't see the "*" so maybe it's my bad. Gues I'll have to go through the whole signup process ;)

was already like that 2 or 3 years ago - i was seriously pissed. got promised free tickets for the next show but then that person got fired and so on blablabla...

i feel like i got screwed by avn after buying a badge for the charity webmaster toy run and not having the name right then and there for megan so the badge went to waste

at least the money went to the charity and not to avn. i will never attend another avn show ever and i have been to a lot of them over the years

And you were forced to buy advertising by avn chris and you gave your right for a free pass to me. Chris never took the time to write out the free pass so I took his own pass and walked around with a badge saying "Chris Le Brun" the remainder of the show.

Something like that right? good times!

Joel, you should know by now that AVN has it out for Teletubbies

When I got the email though, my first thought was, "how many people are going to be pissed this time at AVN".

The last time it happened, there were a lot of people pissed, so hopefully some of them waited this time around to buy their badges and got them free instead.

Contact them and demand refunds on your purchased badges...if you have any leverage, like if you advertise, use that!

I personally am skipping AVN this year, as I will be heading up to Montreal instead (and will probably drop by the Qwebec show, finally). See you guys up there

Years ago I was in Berlin. Had a stand there. Small stand and it was around 10K. So I walk around and meet a huge USA Studio. Some nice talks and I asked what they paid for their huge stand..they said; "Nothing". We were asked to come here and got the stand for free and even our flight tickets and hotel were paid for by the organiser. When I asked; "Why?", they replied: "The organiser wanted an international status and they needed us to be here to achieve that".

That was not AVN, but I know how you feel Joel.
