    TCG spamming out affiliate emails

    Got some spam from an email addy I used only for TCG.

    Thanks guys!!!!

              is getting spam. i've used it one time and it was for TCG when i signed up. so how am i getting spam to it???? please tell me oh wise one, for you seem to know something I dont


              listen, i know you are a half convict / half koala bear mix, so let me help your tiny little mind

              i have come up with 3 reasons why i am getting spam to that email-

              #1- someone hacked tcg and stole their email db. why they would spam porn to webmasters is beyond me
              #2- someone working there stole it and sold it. i know this happens all the time
              #3- they are morons and spammed the list themselves, not likely, but hey, its my email in their system so they are the ones who are fucking up.

                      You think those spammers wouldn't be smart enough to have "tcg", "trafficcashgold" (same thing for EVERY program) in their database of possible names to add to any domain they run accross?

                      This has been pointed out time and time again on this board. EVEN if you used something totally random there's no proof it was them. Could be a bug in their system. They could have been hacked. They probably share those emails with the processors as well which could lead to more leaks. You're a newb when it comes to this issue.

                          First, The thread title implies that TCG is spamming people - this is dangerously misleading.

                          Second, there's NO MONEY IN SPAMMING WEBMASTERS WITH PORN SITES. This point seems to be lost on most everyone here. There are 2 scenarios

                          a) your email address is on a list, a big list, of lots of email addresses that includes lots of people.. not just webmasters or specifically TCG webmasters
                          b) spammers who get pissed like to cause trouble and spam known webmaster email addresses.

                          Third, it's also funny that people think there is such a thing as creating a 'secure' email address that wont get spammed.

                              I don't think their lists were compromised or they're doing it themselves or I would have received at least a half dozen emails to all the accounts I have with TCG. I'm not sure if your email was found through some other source, but I can tell you they didn't email their entire webmaster list or I would have received quite a few emails myself.

                                  is the headers usign that email? or perhaps its a spam that uses the email account in header its tied to
