Anyone else sick of this 300 shit yet?

how much money does it take to plaster your add all over the net? I mean enough is enough already with this 300 crap....I even tried to sign into my myspace and there it was 300 WOW an epic movie looks like a J.R.Tolken rip off to me how many times do we have to see the same story but remember"THIS IS SPARTA"!!!!!!

It's based on a Frank Miller (Sin City) comic. It looks really good. Very artistic. You should see it.

its based on actual events, buttered up for hollywood though

there were actually about 1300 vs over 30,000 instead of the hollywood version of 300 vs a million

Im sure it is a rockin movie. I love what I have seen so far but for christ sake the only other movie that I remember getting this kind of proportional advertising was Batman way back in 1989. I even remember buying a shirt that said "FUCK BATMAN" thats how bad it got.........

troy was pretty lame... its one of those movies you forget the minute after it ends.. made absolutely no impression on me. My guess is that im not gonna like 300 at all but ill still be watching it.

Artistic? Ok, they had some funky lighting sometimes, but goddamn this film of unrelenting insecure machismo was as much art in its content as is Maxim magazine. There was little to it, and the least they could do was have some decent fighting/action. You get sick of brown-speedo-wearing dudes doing the same move again and again and again. Block with shield, pirouette like a ballerina, slice. Block with shield, pirouette like a ballerina the other way, slice. It was the kind of film where after many scenes you'd expect a bunch of ten-year-old boys to scream in unison "aweeesommmmmmmmmmme". Pretty much a waste of time. Not to mention the non-action parts, where there was so little character development that it was just about impossible to give a shit about what happened to them. People should stop trying to convince each other that they're as macho as the homoerotic characters by having watched the film and attested to its "greatness". Should have probably just stayed a comic.

I liked the movie. You have to look at it as entertainment. I agree that the hype machine has been working over time, but that's what it takes these days to make money on a movie when they are charging so much to go to the theater. Besides, what do you expect from the internet these days? Everywhere you go you have a pop up ad for a car, a movie, or whatever else needs to be sold. I can guarantee that there are many within this industry that would use the exact same marketing tactics to sell their stuff if we were allowed.

Regardless, I thought 300 was good for what it was and after taking a look at the comic last night, it was true to the original. Even some shots were directly out of the comic.
