You may think I'm a dick but...

I really am a huge fan of Bruce Springsteen

I don't fancy his "union" leftist lyrics and I know some of his stuff is almost cheesy, but he's one of the most passionate songwriters and performers of all time, when he hits the stage - he steals the show, he's always putting up the best show out there.

First time I heard "Born in the USA" was when I was a kid and I felt like a yankee right away, long years after did I figure out the lyrics was meant to be exactly the opposite then what it became.

But I just read a Rolling Stone interview with Bruce, he was so dedicated to what he did, he did it on 250 pct., that's what I admire so much.

Bruce is my hall of famer

This is a pic I took in Hard Rock Cafe in Atlanta:

    And this is a classic:

No offense but I never cared for Springsteen's music. It just never resonated with me. But there are others too. Rush is another. I just can't get into it.

As I said it's like cheesy, you know you see guys with baseball caps in their 40's that are "rocking" to his music... You may even say that his music is supposed to enchant white trash and you may be right.

But I'm taking it more like from a producers or critics point of view, for example Abba for me is an extremely perfect piece of pop music, and I listen to someone like Tom Waits too, so I'm probably a little bit different than most "listeners"

I'm basically taking different kinds of music and judge them as a craft, enjoying all kinds of different music.

Technical / emotional / commercial value

Hope it makes sense, I know it doesn't

Just found a song I had in my head since I was a little kid and haven't heard for like 20 years

Why would you liking Springsteen make people think you are a dick?

No, it actually makes perfect sense. I roll some Bruce now and again too. Born to run, Jungle Land, etc, it all takes me back to another time and place.

And that's really the ultimate worth of classic rock, the taking you back to what were hopefully good times, maybe even better times.

                Nothing cheesy about it.

Springsteen's music is so unimportant that ends up being important in the weirdest places of the world...
