    D.H. vs Phat Servers

    My God.... what a terrible control panel!

    I've had a few hosts over the years, and I can't say I was crazy about W.A.'s, but in the words of da BoyAlley...

    LAWD MERCY



    The one click install did not work the first time. Trying to find files took some time, and just navigating the control panel was a nightmare. I wanted to do a simple install myself, and well....

    In the end, I just decided to put the blogs over on my Phat Server account instead. Within 20 minutes, they had the programs installed, configured, and running.

    Talk about fucking service!

    Now I just have to remember to call or e-mail someone before the end of the month to bump up my plan before I dump massive traffic on the new network, and have my bandwidth bill shoot to the moon.

      I'm assuming DH is Dreamhost?

      If so, comparing Dreamhost to Phatservers is like comparing McDonald's and a classy steakhouse, or a Kia versus a Porsche.

          Phat is a Top notch host with excellent service! Beyond excellent for me!
          Been with them for 6 years and have 3 dedicated servers.

                  Easily the best overall host I have had in my 10 years expereince in the biz. They (Phat Servers) have had every issue I've thrown at them resolved in 30 minutes. Whether installs, problems, questions, whatever.

                  Now THAT is fucking service!

                  I still have some hosting spread out elsewhere, and because of IP/C block stuff, I wanted to spread out my blogs so I would get the added PR/SEO benefits in crosslinking, etc.

                  But believe you me... one afternoon of dealing with that D.H. madness, and I was like FUCK THIS! Forwarded my domain, and had Phat Servers set me up with what I needed.

                  Now I will not need that Tylenol afterall.

                          Dream host? c'mon you really need to save $10 so bad you will risk your business. Free hosts are better.

                                              if DH means dreamhost then the two should never even be in the same sentence together.


                                              phatservers is in a league much higher than DH

                                              i only put domains on DH that dont make any cash really. fuck off gofball sites that i don't mind if they are down 15&#37; of the time.

                                                      I've never experienced slower load times than on DH. It was ridiculous.
                                                      For a static, simple site they were fine but add a DB backend and good luck...
