Looks like HD-DVD is going to win out...Sony is making the wrong move...AGAIN. We all expected Disney to turn tail and wuss out but Sony? I didn't see that one coming.

im guessing after a short while, sony will turn their shoulder on this. at the same time, those bluray discs are going to be crazy expensive if they are anything like the price of current porn. i cant tell you the last time i priced dvd porn, but i think its around $40-50 a pop. that ratio to dvd prices now would make bluray porn like $80 bucks

HD-DVD has already had several porn titles and the players are half the price of most BR players. Add to that the cost of creation is also cheaper for HD DVD compared to BRD and I think HD DVD can at least survive long term against Sony and it's M$ like bully attitude.

Won't matter in the long run. There will be cross-format players. One already exists that plays both BR and HD-DVD. The format war is stupid, and you'd think the VHS/BETA war would have taught lessons.

I'm having the hardest time deciding between the two formats
I've heard that Blu-Ray has more room for storage but uses older Codecs - and the picture actually is better on HD DVD. I've bought a couple of movies on HD DVD that offer the regular DVD on the one side. Porn may be the deciding factor on which one wins out - but right now it's brutal.
