The Simpsons....dying?

Did anyone see last nights episode? I really think the simpsons writers are running out of idea's.....these "Throw Back" Episodes suck.

I LOVE THE SIMPSONS, but i'd really like to see some fresh idea's.

Anyone else note the lack of new/fresh idea's lately?

I love the Simpsons, but I really think the current season and the one last year are not half as good as the Simpsons used to be.

The show is getting weirder & weirder and less funny. The one yesterday sucked.

Simpsons started going downhill during season 8, and hit rock bottom at the end of season 9. I blame Mike Scully for descending the show into a great pile of shit. Now its geared more towards the kids... but its doubtful that Fox will cancel it anytime soon. Whether its any good or not... its just too profitable.

Troy was right. "Who knows what will happen between now and the time that the show becomes unprofitable?"

New episodes all suck. Brain-eating jockey elves living in a musical underground mushroom village? I mean... what the fuck?!

Well, I still love the show, but I'd have to say it used to be better.. they are just so weird these days. They don't really make any sense anymore, so real storyline, just a bunch of strange random events, hehe. Watch the old Simpsons, they actually have a real storyline and the humor is just tied into it.. now it's like they take some funny ideas and build a story around it.

The weed episode was decent but not nearly as good as it would have been back in The Simpsons glory days. Totally missed a great opportunity to satirize the medicinal marijuana debate.

And shit did last night's episode ever suck. The clips they chose sucked, and the only real joke they did in the regular episode was an idiotic sight gag (the feather) that wasn't even funny.

Starting another cartoon isn't too likely probably....the original Simpsons creators are at least partially responsible for both King of the Hill and Futurama. Not to mention the obvious takeoff of The Simpsons in Family Guy (funny show though).

I think if FOX can afford to ruin their reputation with That 80s show.. they can afford to keep the cartoon that made them, and tracy ullman popular.
I say they should take that gay puppet show and that stupid 80s show... and flush them both.

seems like right now.. they dont even know what they are doing.. now that kenny is gone.. and they cant decide on who they are gonna keep or throw away.. it just doesnt seem like another movie is coming any time soon.

I think the simpsons gets better and better with each year. They seem to elevate themselves further from toilet humour as time goes by.. Although, i haven't seen any of the current series, since i'm living in australia.. it's all good so far!
