i hate it when shop people call me sir.

it sounds stupid.

to me i am a kid (ok i am in my 30's) but i do not want to be called sir.

i can understand calling somone senior sir but not sopmone my age.

oi tell people its adam. not even mr. mr blake is my dad.

it seems recently that all businesses in the uk have been told to call the customers sir or madam.

the only time i used to be called sir was by the poilice when they stoped me for speeding.

well the only ones that address me by "Sir" are the people I outsource simple cut'npaste stuff to and I have to admit ... it does feel uncomfortable because of how frequently they use it...

In the UK excessive use of the the word "Sir" is considered to be slur on the person in question (in other words you really calling him an asshole, but not in a position to say as much).... unless the person in question actually does have a Knighthood then its not the case.
