Uruguay played most of the time with 9 men in defense. Would of been a different game if they had been more attacking. France might be going home early.

Uruguay seems to have this solid wall defense which i would assume will take them far.

for instance in american football it is usually thought that the team with superior defense will go the distance. you can have a mediocre offense but if you dont allow the other team to score you will probably end up winning.

would you say this also applies to world football? i really don't know, i watch it occasionally but am not very versed in the logistics of the sport.

not most of the time. the red card did not come until near the end of the game.

Uruguay should have won the game, I liked the midfield with Arévalo Rios and Diego "Ruso" Pérez they played a really good match
