I wouldn't say that I am attacking Mr. Muir. If you read the previous threads he made about me using his fake nick " traffichog" than you would see he has attacked me. Making a post pointing FACTS about someone isn't attacking them. If they have a problem with what I am saying they shouldn't have done those things in the first place.
Mr. Muir has Mr. Muir to thank. If he wouldn't have attacked me with his fake nick I would have never known who he was. It was pretty easy for me to conntect Traffichog as being his nick. You ever stop to think that at the beginning of every new industry there were lots of people like you, patting themselves on the back, saying nothing would ever change, that the game would always be played by their rules? Who even remembers them?
The names that did survive in oil, banking or anything you care to name, what they have in common is that if they didn't play straight from the beginning, they knew when it was time to clean up their acts.
You aren't treading a new path and if you were near as smart as you apparently think, you would put your ego on hold, read some business history and learn from it.Comment

IMHO, I think that Will (and a few others) have finally pointed out that the emperor has no clothes. Everyone was fawning over AFF and whatnot, and yet in the end, it has been shown that by purchasing traffic from zango, they have been basically taking advantage of even their largest affiliates.
Will has taken a risk that is close to "business suicide", but the reality is that he isn't wrong.Comment

It goes beyond just exposing the emperor. Look at his courtiers, Sleazy and a lot of other TGP operators, sponsors too, who it turns out were dumb enough to put so many of their eggs in one basket that they can't easily extricate themselves. Their goosebumps are showing too.
But there is a long way to go. Somewhere down the line it has to sink in that it's a nonsense for a sponsor getting ripped in a dozen threads to show up on the same board running a competition, that it doesn't make sense to drop a sponsor because you think he is damaging the industry, but continue to work with people who still support him.Comment

For some people it would be a risk, especially program owners, etc... For me it really isn't a risk, I am just speaking my mind without having to worry about consequence.
My first 4 years in this industry I didn't post on messageboards or read them, hell I am not sure if I even knew they existed.
I found Ynot in 2003 because I was pissed that (shit I can't even remember their name) gateway processor was dropping adult like a hot potatoe and all of a sudden they had a fuck you, you scum attitude with me, but the previous 4 years my money was good enough for them, now, over night it was dirty... anyway i wanted a place to speak my opinion I emailed a bunch of webmaster resource sites with my "story" and Jay from Ynot was the only one to reply back and he suggested i post there as well.
I found the boards as a way for me to speak out and voice my opinions,concerns, etc.. and I still use them for that purpose today (GFY maybe a little too much for entertainment sometimes) . You have never seen me sig whore, post in contest, etc... If I piss someone off so be it. I opperated very well for many years before even talking to 1 other person in this industry and if I were to resort back to that now I am sure I would do just as well now. Sure networking is a big plus, but if are mainly an advertiser than you don't need to kiss anyone's ass. You can piss off Sponsors all day, most of them only care about money, so chances are they will still take my sales if they don't like me.
It just seems that since all this zango stuff has come out I have had a lot more to express than normal. If someone here doesn't like me fine, if they do like me, cool.. If i piss a lot of people off and one day start a program I will just buy a lot of drinks to make up for it

Are you really foolish enough to believe that the little guy, to whom no-one pays any attention when businesses are making their first millions, suddenly becomes everyone's concern when those companies are making tens of millions? Laws do get passed which businesses do not want, but many are promoted by businesses themselves for their own benefit. Trade associations (in whatever form) are not created to give mom-and-pop businesses a leg up: their primary purpose is to protect the interests of the biggest operators.
This Zango/scumware issue is exactly the kind of activity which can force major operators, however unwillingly, to begin applying standards. Because while most of the fuss on boards like this has been generated by affiliates, scumware isn't like shaving and other things allegedly used to harm only affiliates. Scumware costs targeted sponsors the same percentage of their business as their affiliates lose: the difference is that applied to their income, that percentage represents a vastly more significant dollar loss. Use whatever common sense you possess and ask yourself for how long dozens of sponsors will tolerate such losses.
You are a dinosaur waiting for the asteroids to hit. When someone starts in business and doesn't have a pot to p*ss in, scamming someone out of $10 might be a big deal, especially if a thousand people can be scammed. But once you have a million in the bank, a scam needs to be worth $10K a pop or whatever, to be interesting.
The other side of that coin is that your targets can't be the little guys that no-one cares about any more. Each time you are successful at one level, your next targets have to be richer. Before long, big companies are fighting each other. And before too much longer a few of them figure out that if they can level the playing field (in their favor), they will be a lot better off. Business 101. Not idealism, left-wing politics or whatever it is you think you are railing against. Simple self interest.Comment
