    There is still money about ... Feel good thread for the US

    Not so good for the UK as we loose another one of our industries to another country but still good news and proves that there is still money about ..thats if you are a big boy

    Tate & Lyle has announced a deal to sell its sugar business to American Sugar Refining for £211m in cash.

    Although Tate and Lyle were making a profit it was down from prevoius months

    "The group reported pre-tax profits of £229m for the year to March, down from the £247m it made a year earlier"

    The companys net debt stood at £814m

    So there you go the US is about to own a very old name in the sugar industries

              Yep its a shame to see the old name Tate and Lyle go abroad

              Im kinda suprised that they let this deal out to the public when there are still two months left before the deal is complete, Its now making the employees nervous as they dont know what the new owners will do.

Im now down in the west country and its raining but we have had some real nice sunny weather over the last few weeks and I have been down to Cornwall and we also went to a little place called Watchet very pretty little place ...wouldent mind living there myself

                                  Yeah its only an hour and 30 mins or so to Torquay from where we are now, we will most prob move again in a couple of years time as my misses want to live in a village around the Somerset area. We have been going all over the place over the last few weeks just to check things out and one other place I also liked was Cheddar. We also went down to Penryn, Turo and Newquay ..all very nice places.
