Does the adult industry target children?

Curious as to why so many of you have "cartoon" logos and headers. Isnt that dangerously blurring the line of which market you are targetting?

define "cartoon" do you mean like a non-human but very erotic drawing of an adult woman? Or do you mean like Sponge bob? Do you see the difference?

Maybe it's cheaper for a non-content person to just hire a designer to create a toon logo than it is to pay a chick for a photo session.

Maybe a toon logo is less offensive to softcore sites.

Maybe someone drew it for me, because they wanted me to use it in a TGP, but I never did. SO THERE! Happy now. (The following toon is not for kids)

I understand the concept of anime but there are ALOT of non-anime toon logos and headers out there.

I could show some of the toons I run across but I dont want to target anyone about this, it was just a thought I had after coming across a couple of adult design portfolios today. Some of them are dangerously blurring the line of intent.

As an industry, I think we do a pretty good job of avoiding kids and working to fight CP.

It's safest to stay away from that fine line.

For example, a cartoon of ageless cartoon characters could be misinterpretted. Best to use something else.

targeting children and CP are two completely different things.

what he's saying is that people using toon logos could be seen as targeting their product to children. although, that doesnt make much sense, considering anyone under the age of 18 cannot possibly make you any money.

Thats not true, a bulk of the porn viewing public is male and between the ages of 14-28, 14 is still a child. Also I think it may be more of a case that there are more teen webmasters than actually using the logos to target. They think the logos look cool because in essence they are kids themselves.

14 year olds dont have credit cards or checking accounts. i suppose you could argue SMS billing, but that will surely only produce a month or two of income TOPS before mommy and daddy noticed it on the bill and flipped the fuck out.

all morals and ethics aside, its just not profitable for webmasters to target children. i also think the teenage webmaster logic is a little flawed as well. i know of several programs that have been around for a long time that use toon logos on their sites. i honestly dont know their logic behind using them, but i would venture to guess that it has nothing to do with targeting children.

Cartoons have never been the domain of children only, not sure where you got that idea. Remember Betty Boop? She was born on August 8th 1930. Betty was very risque for her time. Although she is the most recognizable adult cartoon from that long ago, she is certainly not the only one.

Something simply being a cartoon or animated does not make it only in the realm of children....it is a misconception. There will always be adult style cartoons, aimed at adults because it offers possibilities that are not available with humans.

Take our logo, our monster, it is a cartoon simply because monsters do not exist in real life and hence it is harder than hell booking one to pose for you. Dancing penis' are hard to come by...and so are women with a 12 inch waist and ZZZZ cup boobs.

People started drawing naked cartoons way back when getting a human naked on film/print whatever was impossible. During the first world war naked women tattoed on mens arms were all the rage, they were cartoon style also.

no I am very into the playboy logo . Adults like popular art too and when they get more money will develop and commission better art. I like to try to target what my friends who are late 20's early 30's are into. Some with toons have spent a lot of cash developing safe gaurds to keep kids away even pre-content and will continue to do so.

Also, some just also like names like the peppermint rhino. Top three coolest places in Vegas for sure.

most adult webmasters are two legged beasts with borderline retarded iq's.

that they are attracted to bright colors and smiling cartoon faces is not surprising imho.

nothing perverted about it. they are just slow.

maybe it's more of a target of pedophiles
that site looks more like a teen site
which i don't think targets teens, but targets dirty old men who like teens
I think it all goes down to content. If the chicks look like pre-teens you have a point. But, if the girls look like and more importantly are adults, well then you full shit.

                                              lol.

I just dont think as an industry we can afford to even give the appearance of such intent.

first intent has to be actual. Again, I may be an idiot but I like watching the Simpsons and South Park. Really do not see the harm in Adults viewing other adults on sites with soft core toon headers. A lot bigger evils in the adult entertainment industry to target if one is so inclined.

maybe the intent is to appeal to the eye of the pedo

i really think your logic is a far stretch from reality.

i bet there are MILF sites with cartoon logos on them. surely they arent catering to pedos too?
