A Weekend on Magnetic Island ... Queensland ... Beautiful One Day, Perfect The Next !
2 hours flight north of Brisbane to Townsville, a quiet 30 minutes by fast ferry and we land a small rock called Magnetic Island.
Beautiful beaches, amazing rainforest, warm water, brilliant sunshine, great resort pools (overlooked by the resort bar, so drinks can be partaken in while still "pretending" to be responsible and watch the kids), awesome snorkelling for the kids on the close offshore reefs ....
And NO cell coverage and only the couple of little internet cafes (just here checking emails then back to the beach - sitting at the PC in boardshorts, dripping wet, drinking a Mai Tai), so EVERY excuse to do fuck all but loll around in the sun, drink, eat, torture the children and basically achieve nothing.
And this place is considered a "shithole" when it comes to where Aussies usually do the reef and resorts ... WAYYYYYY down the totem pole.
Man, are we blessed with an amazing country.
Only downside, spending the weekend with the "mother in law to be".
Everything my wonderful fiance Mell is, this bitch ain't.

Oh well, can't have everything can we.
