You're wrong. I used to own a Telecaster... lovely guitars, but This is a real guitar ;) The Gibson Les Paul. Nothing beats it. NOTHING. I owned and played both but sold the Telecaster since I never used anything but the Gibson. For good reason. Warmer, fuller sound. And for rock work, the tele can't come close.

My wife and I both play Dean Customs (mine's black and hers is purple), but they look somewhat like Teles. I can't stand the split headstock style, I gotta have all the tuning pegs on one side. However, you could tell her to her face that she's a "fag" or "gay" or "homosexual" and she wouldn't give a shit because she's bisexual, but telling me to my face that I'm a fag will get you a broken nose as best case scenario.

I agree with you on the Les Paul part, but having both a LP and a Tele is definitely the best of both worlds. One thing I like about Fenders is that their MIM (Made in Mexico) line costs about what the Epiphones (Korean made Gibson copies) do with much higher quality. My 50's Classic Tele is one of the best guitars I've ever had which isn't bad for $400. But if I had a choice of any guitar it would definitely be an LP Standard with the Gibson '76 Explorer a very close second.
