Amex and Chargebacks............

i think the reason people some places dont take amex is because their fees are higher. any big store or resturant will take it though, the only places that dont take it is usually smaller mom and pop stores.

From what I understand Amex is an expensive payment form, for merchants.

amex takes a lot more % - its 10-12% here which is a like double

but on other hand i read that people using Amex tend to spend more on avg per sale and such i could be wrong

I try not to take Amex at my deli, if I can. The fees are 3 times what they are to use MC/Visa/Discover.

well their black / plat amex has a lot higher limit so thats prolly true
