    US Army/Navy/Marines Draft in effect...You Showing up?

    The US armed forces are pretty strapped....if we decide to take on iran/north korea/pakistan/lebanin and a draft is put into effect..will you show u if your nimber is picked?.


    Me..unless its on US soil...hell fucking no!..i wiil go to B.C. ..snowboard like a che-amp and smoke/grow nugs until everything bblows over...or..UP!

              I already did my time (six years in the USN)...

              Let Dubya and his cronies, or better yet, their kids, serve on active duty on the front lines as enlisted infantry soldiers - then they may not get us into all the shit that they do, or at the very least, they will take action to stop needless deaths and injuries.

              The all volunteer military is a disaster. Look closely at who is dying in Iraq - Disproportionately kids from rural areas and poor inner city youth that don't have very good employment options.

              The draft is not much better, since the children of the Dubya's, the Cheney's and the Rumsfeld's, can all find deferements or loopholes to keep them out of harms way if they wish to, just as their father's did for them.

              If I felt this country was in emminent danger, then I would enlist and serve again, even if I were not required to. Unfortunately, at times it appears that some in our own government pose the greatest danger to the people of this country.

                  i served 5 years active and 3 years inactive.

                  i'm now over the age limit as well.

                  all males between 18 and 27 are in that draft zone if they havent served.

                                                                                      Prince Harry in Iraq represents a greater threat to his fellow troops by being a high value target, instead of being any kind of a difference maker in the war and the future of Iraq. If nothing else, I hope that he gets dusted up a little, and comes away with some practical knowledge about the stupidity of the leadership in the US and UK that have brought our countries to this point.

                                                                                                                  Scoring high on the ASVAB and other military tests generally gets you on a Staff command, not on the front lines. I never went on a ship except for in-port inspections during my six years in the Navy. The rest of the time I was mostly a desk jockey that got to travel around Asia on the taxpayers dime banging local hookers (not a bad gig if you can get it).

                                                                                                                                                                      All of the men in my family (granfather, father, great grandfather, etc), were military men. My father made sure I was educated, was goal oriented and athletic for a reason, and it wasn't to be shipped away. I knew I could do something productive with my life that doesn't involve front line work, so I reached for that branch and pulled myself up. I respect our armed forces immensely, but it's just not right for me. Especially at this point of my life with what I know and what I have to lose.

                                                                                                                                                                                                  The other week I was watching one of those American police shows where they chase bad drivers and stuff. I couldn't believe that a couple in a stolen car would be shot at by Police for not getting out the vehicle! They must have fired about 6 shots, you could see the girl passenger trying to dodge the bullets in the passenger seat from the Helicopter camera.
