Yep, really. If the US decided to use a nuke to solve their problems then that pretty much opens up a can of baked beans that won't stop until the whole grocery isle is full of stinking, fermented bullshit. Say US uses a nuke in Iran (they won't, but say they did). What's to then stop Russia from using a nuke to solve a border dispute? We won't have the "moral authority" to say shit to them. Then another country follows suite. Then another. Then another. America is no longer the big kid on the block with a shiny new toy. Sure, we can deliver the nukes better than the vast majority out there but the end result will be the same: MAD. And whatever country chooses to stay out of such an event, assuming that a nuclear winter doesn't occur, will become the new Rome of the world. I'd put my money on China.
