Batman is just a regular dude with exceptional training. No magic powers, and he takes matters into his own hands when no one else can or will, and he does it without killing people. That's very inspiring to me.

I was an xmen kid, so that drew me in, then because I had an awesome comic shop near me where people debated comics, I ended up loving stuff like Lone Wolf and Cub. Since your in the states if you get an ipad check out panelfly.com a great app for ipad that really takes comics into the new world.
PS i loved Frank Miller after lone wolf and cub, so led me to Batman thru that way, ala Dark Knight etc.
