Questions: Canadians setting up businesses/bank accounts in US?

Pre-patriot act this was a breeze.

They all interpret the rules differently but you shouldn't need more than to fill out a W8 to get a tax id. Might take a lot of shopping around to find a bank that isn't full of retards that know how to do everything.

If you get a DBA or incorporate in the US you are going to have a lot of unnecessary tax complications.

I am looking to setup some merchant processing in the states.. I have everything worked out as long as I have a US business bank account, and a US business addy (have that)... I can get the account with a tax id?
