when i was a cop i was the first responder to a car crash near the santa maria area. i saw a baby in a carseat impaled into a chain link fence. i couldnt sleep for weeks and couldn't shake the images from my head for the longest time. all three passengers were killed. it didnt shake me so much seeing dead adults, but the infant really really fucked me up for a long time.

was on the swat team too. i used to be a nutso, gung ho fucker.
was pretty much hired by palo alto pd when i got out of the air force but decided i didn't wanna watch my back for the rest of my life.

yeah huh? me as a cop. kinda scary. hahaha.

That sucks. I was TOLD I looked directly at the body of someone who'd been hit by a car, but to this day that's a total blank.

You said "family," and so I cringed. I guess it's really an irrelevant matter, though... I mean, no matter which way this one played out, people are losing fathers and mothers and daughters and brothers (by blood or not) unexpectedly every day.
