I have a similar deal...
I was driving my 67 Skylark on the highway and I see a 72 Riviera boattail. So I get excitied since it's not every day I get to see another Buick muscle car, and I race up next to him. I lean out the window and tell him, "Nice Ride" and the guy turns into a total prick. Can't remember what he said but he was very dismissive. Ddin't help that he looked like "the Collector" from the Simpsons.
Anyway, a few months pass and I see a 72 Riv for sale in the paper. Turns out sir-douche-alot got into a fender bender and fucked the front end. Wound up buying it off him for $500, I would have gotten it even cheaper but his mother - who he lived with- told him he wasn't "allowed" to sell it for less.
I parted out the car and almost got my money back, plus I kept the drive train, so I've got his 455 big block and tranny in my garage now.
Just weird case of karma.
