Well you guys are definitely sweet. I'm thinking about getting some pilates videos for home and then spending my 2 gym days doing upper and lower body strength training. I have never done a whole lot of cardio and I wasn't doing any at all when I was in my best shape. Strength training adds muscle to me which increases my already pretty good metabolism. Although last summer I spent a lot of time running after my son on his power wheels "4 wheeler" which required jogging to keep up with and that was a lot less boring than the treadmill. I could get back into that if the weather here stays cooperative. Todays the first gym day!Comment

Good luck with your plan, it gets tougher the older we get :-(
i need to drop about 30lbs myself
i can do it again in two months tme if i quit eating so many bad carbs, but that is a bitch, with kids there is always too much junkfood in the house and at night i am like a bloodhound rummaging through the cabinetsLast edited by BV; 03-01-2007, 06:21 AM.Comment

If you are looking for something to do while at home I would seriously consider Yoga. It is a lot tougher to keep motivated doing it at home alone as opposed to doing it in a class, as well as harder to learn the poses, but it will seriously tone you up and restore the flexibility we all lose over the years. Just do a search on Amazon for different Yoga dvd's, although the Yoga page on About.com http://yoga.about.com/index.htm?terms=yoga is a hell of a resource to start out with if you want to learn about the various types of Yoga. I took a Yoga class 14 years ago in college and was amazed what a workout it is, and I take one at my gym when I can fit it in.Comment

Thanks! I have considered doing yoga many times because I am very flexible naturally and enjoy stretching out on my own. I tried one class and couldn't keep my balance, but doing it at home might be a great way to get comfortable with it.If you are looking for something to do while at home I would seriously consider Yoga. No problem. You look to be in good enough shape to start out with Vinyasa Yoga, which is a little more strenuous than Hatha Yoga, which is more like a beginners Yoga (slower paced, not as strenuous, etc.) I take a Ashtanga Yoga class, which is the same thing as Power Yoga that you see advertised at a lot of gyms, and there is a 70 year old guy in my class that is in phenomenal shape and looks like he could kick the shit out of me. He said he does nothing but Yoga for a workout, has been doing it since he was in his late 40's, and feels like he's still in his 20's.Comment

Well you look great, very pretty and nice body and curves etc.
Maybe just consistent walking or jogging at least 30 minutes a day is all you want. Leg raises and other basic old school leg workouts still get results in this new fancy exotic era of exercise we seem to be in.43-922-863 Shut up and play your guitar.

you are VERY thin already.. you should do light jogging and buy some weights to lift at homeHeres the background:
A little over 3 years ago I was in really super shape thanks to a personal trainer, eating healthy and running after a 2-year-old nonstop. I quit the trainer because I was going through a divorce and the stress of it also encouraged me to eat comfort food. During the 1 1/2 year period following that I went through 2 jaw surgeries which left me anorexic looking each time I went through it. So I started with the perfect balance of muscle and fat, then gained more fat, then lost both fat and muscle after the first surgery, gained back the weight, then went through the same procedure and weight loss again.
Now I feel like, while still a petite person, I don't have the muscle tone or curves I used to have. I've been in the gym sporadically but it never stuck. My new life is very busy and I have a lot to fit in. Because I am a single mother, I can't get up early to go to the gym or go after work either. Plus my job has me sitting on my ass all day. So I need help! I am attending a big event in Miami this May and I want to be completely HOT. That gives me just under 3 months.
I am hoping that posting this here will gain me a couple things:
1. Advice on specific exercise routines that I can fit into my schedule. (I have a gym membership but the only times I will be able to make it would be ONE mid-day during the week and ONE weekend day. So I need a plan for fitting the gym in, as in what to do there to maximize my time, with some things I can do at home.)
and most importantly...
2. Encouragement and a reason not to quit!
Here are my before pics. I will post new pics every 3-4 weeks until the trip in May. All your advice and encouragement is very welcome.

You can get a set that should be able to do your core training that would get you back into muscle shape
Are you sure this is about going to the gym though? sounds like you miss the energy..

No offence, but you're crazy. You have a hot body and fucking around with it is a bad idea. Just keep healthy eating and excersise. Dont' overdo it, and don't try and lose any more weight! You look great!Heres the background:

3 changes to diet and 1 lifestyle change does it every time
Hi Nikkay,
First let me say that you are very hot!
And I can relate to wanting to be more in shape even when others say you are hot. I have very similar issues for loosin' some extra flesh after becoming way to busy sittin' at a computer for months.
Here is what works for me every time I get the urge to purge flesh, the jiggles go away and the abs tighten:
Eliminate or greatly reduce these three items from diet and nearly all flab disappears:
Bread, pasta, white rice (basically anything gooey starchy and white)
Sugar in all forms but especially high fructose corn syrup
cheese except cottage, feta, and a small amt. of goat or sheep cheese
One lifestyle change:
travel by bicycle instead of car whenever you can
extra credit...do sit-ups or other ab exercises at home daily and yoga if you can fit it in. Eat fresh fruit every morning and a big salad every day!
I have a gym membership and never go, so I got sick of trying to fit that in. Integrating the sit-ups and yoga at home happens more often.
hope that helps. I will get some current pix up here so you can see my before-miniskirt-weather shots too.
Add me to your icq and let's bug each other to follow through ;-)
