They were armed with non-lethal riot control weapons but carried side arms with live rounds...when they were being beaten as they roped down to the ship (as the video of the event clearly shows) and when two of the Israeli forces had their pistols taken from them and began receiving fire from them... the other Israeli forces drew their side arms and began using deadly force.
It is being reported that the other five ships allowed boarding and a search of their ships without incident...just this one ship chose to attack the Israeli forces one by one as they roped down.
