Google very fast indexing

I can't give you any hard data but I can tell you that a new site I helped set up was indexed by Google within a week or two, and it has been steadily climbing up the ranks since then. 2 months after the domain was registered it is on page 1 of the results for a single search term that has 600k+ results... nipping at the heels of authoritative sites that have been established for years.

It's not something I'd consider typical, but it's a nice surprise...

Only 2 weeks? DAM!, that's faster than when I use my Google Priority ID Number.

Sorry, I have recently discovered something that I am not about to reveal to anyone for free.

Too few taking advantage and I don't want to screw that up. After everyone else picks up on it I will afmit I have been doing it for a while.

is it true its better for seo purposes to wait for your site to be automatically indexed rather than submitting to places like google and yahoo?

If you are going to submit it, submit it via sitemap

That's what happens to me as well, for a mainstream site that I never submitted to anything, as I was still working on it, I found it indexed fast by Google, with good SE rankings for individual items keyword searching ... That's odd, I also have no idea where did the spider get my url ... from the registrar?!? from the host? weird ... but nice

Are you sure the domain wasn't registered before? I've registered domains that I didn't think had been registed before and for them to get crawled damn quick etc. only to find out later that they had been previously owned.
