Why so many domains have their whois info stripped?

Ok lately i noticed that LOTS of domains have just that tiny info in their whois
    "
    Registrant:
    something Inc.

    Registered through: GoDaddy.com, Inc. (http://www.godaddy.com)
    Domain Name: someodmain.COM

    Domain servers in listed order:
    NS61.somens.COM
    NS62.somens.COM"
    "

No names, no address, no phones even if it was whois protected would be better, since there is email forwarding to the real one.

But that way it's impossible to get in touch with the owner

isn't that against the ICANN regulations, where they want you to keep up to date contact information?

Probably privacy related in most cases.

Privacy is a good idea, because there are bots collecting this personal data.

that's godaddy's way. They only send basic info and require you to go to their site to make whois, where they try to sell you everything web related.
Say no to GoDaddy and high renewal prices! Go with NameSilo - FREE private whois for life, $8.99 regstrations and renewals. Free redirects, emails, great control panel and more! NameSilo rocks!

Bucks wasnt asking about whois privacy.

He was asking about half available whois info that godaddy and other registrars tend to show.

Make the whois on the registrar's website and you'll get a lot more info.
