you need a ssn to open one in the states.

Why do you want one in another country though?

just for stupid paypal... they keep freezing my accounts and now they want me to give them a new bank account.. So frustrating, but I *have* to pay some vendors with it...

if you are in vancouver, drive down to blaine, wa and open one in person...

Problem is that a country that allows a foreign citizen to open a bank account online will also be a country where paypal puts restrictions on that countries accounts.

its not an issue, the banks along the border are fine with it and have the paperwork all ready to go....canadians are allowed to have us bank accounts and own property in the us...

Buy old numbered account from österreich... no any IDs required. It will costs some £$ but then you have something very unique at these days!

Yeah! Talk to BankofAmerica. Just watched a piece on the news that if you have valid ID they will open an account for you. Apparently they are pandering to the illegal immegrants for business now.

Of course this is the reason that I am NOT going to have an account with them any more. But if you are Canadian, I would give them a shot.

There is those Indian and Korean banks that are in Canada. http://www.icicibank.ca/ is one of them.

I forgot what the korean bank name is but I know its 4950 Yonge St.

Look into TD Waterhouse Bank. You can get info on it through TD Canada Trust. It is their American bank (only for Canadians and accessable online)and you can get an account set-up that gives Paypal a valid American bank to use. It doesn't require us residency as all of their clients are based in Canada

I seriously doubt that, Austria doesn?t have numbered accounts for years and I don?t think that?s what he was asking for?.
