    What good do timed refreshes do???

    I've seen this a lot on big traffic big money making sites. Does it just inflate stats or is there an ulterior motive?

      content rotation.
      For example.. webcams.. refresh every 5 minutes to keep page current with who is online/offline

                      News sites would give up to the minute headlines and stories.

                      Web based email would show new messages.

                      MRTG charts would show bandwidth changes.

                      Definitely has its purpose. Definitely is annoying in some cases. Does anyone know of a plug-in to setup auto-refresh on sites of your choosing?
