I was on a cruise last night with some friends (three skylines and a couple of audi's), and we all stopped on the shoulder of an empty road after driving around for a while. A cop came by, did the "bloop" with the sirens and asked us if we needed help, I guess because some of us had our hazards on.
"No sir, we're just out for a nice cruise tonight."
"at 3 am on a friday morning?"
"we all work late shift/are unemployed/are self employed"
"street racing?"
"no sir, not at all, just a nice cruise around vancouver"
"sounds fun. be safe"
This despite that we were stopped on the side of a road, under a no parking sign (we didn't see it until he rolled up), and three of our cars are loud and look like we'd be street racing, lol.
People who hate cops always have reason. A reason that I just can't comprehend. Even with my violently loud car idling there, and the fact that we're all in our early-mid 20's, he was cool andj ust told us to be safe.
The moral of the story is this: Silly laws are stupid, because they might force an otherwise cool cop to be a dick. I'm sure he figured we were out racing around, but since our laws basiically say its fine to be a car club with annoyingly loud cars so long as we're safe, he was cool.
Ontario might have been a different story, I guess. That's why western can is so much better :D
edit: Jon Oso, I wish we had your weather here in Vancouver. Bastard.
