Mike Awesome RIP-Another Pro Wrestler dead

Mike Awesome 42, former ECW World Champion and WCW Wrestler, was found dead in the Tampa Area Saturday Morning.
Some of you may not know who he is and what he did, but when he was the ECW Champion he jumped ship and signed a contract with WCW.

At this point looks like suicide.

Just another wrestler to die young in a long line of wrestlers.

Arguing with a troll is a lot like wrestling in the mud with a pig, after a couple of hours you realize the pig likes it.

Yep...I called my friend Saturday and she told me about it... I met and hung out with Mike around 2000. I had him sign my shirt too because I was a huge wrestling mark back in the day.... I even posted about him in my blog... REST IN PEACE MIKE..... Good times....I'll never forget...

From what I understand he had alot going on in his life....Health problems, wife leaving him etc......I guess it was all too much for him. I still can't believe he's gone.

Things could have changed, but Mike didn't use drugs or drink alcohol. I remember countless times offering Mike a beer at hotel bars after shows and he always refused, until he finally told me one time he didn't drink. He was also never present at the many drug fueled parties I attended with other ECW guys. He was a really bright and sensitive guy, and if you never watched wrestling you would be amazed the high spots he could pull off being such a big guy. I remember being at a show in Buffalo at the Burt Flickenger Center when everyone found out that Mike took a contract from WCW and wasn't coming back, but still had the ECW belt. I was pretty pissed off at him at the time but I look back now and realize Paul Heyman had bounced checks and flat out not paid guys, and you couldn't blame Mike for doing what was best for his family. RIP Mike you will be missed.
