The most fucked up pictures I have ever taken

It was pretty shocking . . . and I am not easily shocked.

I wouldn't want to see that stuff.
I was the first one on the scene of a motorcycle accident about 15 years ago and that was pretty frightening.

It doesn't seem the police were the first ones on the scene.

Investigators are typically interested in seeing the scene from the earliest vantage point possible.

And why wouldnt baddog take pictures?

from the historians' standpoint, he was the first one there with a camera. while it's easy to witness a cause and figure out the effects (if nothing else, you can just sit around and wait to see what happens), it's not as easy to go the other way... gravity or the wind or a distraught love one could have barged into the scene (or an infinite number of other factors) and altered things to make it more difficult to go back and see what the cause of the effects were.

from the artists' standpoint, death is part of life. It's not like he did anything to cause the incident, or was standing by when he could have been helping someone live... the scene was set - all he could do is observe. I think the true artist absorbs and expresses in limited capacity first, and then decides what he's to share later.

Why did he share the story? I think it might have been because it was a situation that impacted his day significantly, and he needed a catharsis. I don't think he was ever debating showing the pics or not... sounds like he's been pretty set on not showing them since post #1... I think he was just expressing himself in a forum that he knew he'd be able to... among friends that he knewwould be able to handle the subject matter... not like this is something you really wanna write to mom about.

that sucks. i hate seeing things like this (probably the main reason i am no longer a nurse) - it sort of eats at you. at least you have a chance to re-evaluate your own driving manuevers in the next few weeks, so hopefully something is learned. *hugs*

Not sure if ya remember the thread awhile ago about the 19 yr old that was brutally killed in a car accident,someone on GFY had posted pics . What they didn't realize is the chick was my friend and it still torments me to this day thinking about those pics....

BTW, Boy Alley and any others that feel I should not have taken the pics, the CHP asked me to burn them to a CD and are on their way over to pick it up, because, since I was one of the first there, and the first to get pictures, there "may be something in the background, such as a person or vehicle, that they are looking for and would assist their investigation."

Yesterday was such a rollercoaster for me, I feel like I did some good 70's era acid today.

Not getting much done.

I've seen similar shit some 5 years ago... A guy in Opel (about 25yo) crossed on the other side of the road and got hit by Mercedes pickup. (he probably fell a sleep or something...). Two cars that were in front of me stopped. We all got out of the car and the guy from Opel had his brain.... Then I said to myself that in any way I will never,ever! buy or drive Opel car... The two guys from Mercedes had only few scratches.
