Bought 2 new Acer Laptops w/512 ram, 1.6 ghz proc, 1mb l2 cache, and the thing is slower than a snail. This new OS is for the birds. I can't even buy a system with XP on it!! GGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRR!! I looked at the cost of RAM for these systems and it's CRAZY!!

I wouldn't really say it sucks. It just doesn't really add anything new to the table when compared to an OS like XP. It has a fancy new look, big fucking deal -- I turn off all that shit on any OS I use. If I wanted to look at something pretty I'd use a fucking mac.

Go to the comp store, spend a lot of time asking questions and wasting the salespersons time, then tell them you want XP on it and when they say no, tell them they just lost the sale. The more that people do that, the more they'll start to listen to what people want.

you have to upgrade your ram anyways... 512 is nothing these days... even xp runs relatively slow with that, so do many applications, including pshop...Comment

Vista is good if you have the hardware for it. But there's a lot of shit to turn off before you can get it running good. I'm pretty surprised they're selling a vista on laptops with only 512mb of ram though.264-543-302Comment
