Pixel site - WorstSexSite.com

Well after 6 weeks we have made it to 2,689,236 on the Alexa.com 3 month rankings and 955,224 on the weekly rankings! I know this is nothing to most here, but hey, not bad for a newby.

I have also just placed a 1,000 pixel block on ebay, starting price just £9.98 (about $20), so if it goes at that price it is just 1/5th of the normal price. (I actually put it on eBay more for the publicity than anything else!) If anyone here is interested the ebay item number is 220081381016.

I would also really appreciate any tips anyone has to give on getting publicity for the site.

After a week of consistantly rising slowly WorstSexSite.com now has the following Akexa rankings:

3 month ranking ................1,878,312

Weekly ranking ....................442,996

Over 66% of viewers are from the US and the latest page views is 8 per visitor.

What are the traffic stats?

Latest figures are weekly ranking of 413,890, our daily traffic is now averaging just over 600 a day (weekly based), but is growing constantly week on week for the past 7 weeks.

I do agree that general pixel sites are no longer novel, however, it is the name that is important here!

As with any advertising you should leave a question in the public's mind, here we leave several:

1) 'What is the Worst Sex Site?'

2) 'What kind of sex is the worst sex?'

3) 'Who would use the name the WorstSexSite.com?'

The name is the key here, enticing and macabre at the same time, that is why people are coming to the site.

For those who think that Pixel advertising is dead I take it you think the same about newspaper and magazine advertising, billboard advertising, cinema and radio advertising, after all we have TV advertising and internet advertising! No advertising medium or type is dead when people are talking about it and reading/viewing it!

In seven weeks we have gone from zero to 600 uniques a day, and that is just the start!
