The most expensive, and best tasting water I ever drank was back in the 80s when I attended a dinner at the Explorers' Club in New York. The dinner featured exotic foods from all over the world (think Fear Factor) and the water was from prehistoric polar ice that was transported in its frozen state and only allowed to melt right before you drank it. I'm not sure what it must have cost per glass, but I'm guessing it cost a lot more than anything I've ever paid to drink, before or since.

Taste was amazing. I don't know how to describe it except to say it actually tasted like it was "good for you" and it was as if my body recognized it somehow and was happy about drinking it. It had the same effect on others I was with that night. It kind of made us sad that this was what water used to taste like.

"If you want a happy ending, that depends, of course, on where you stop your story."
