Damn this is going to come across as corny as hell but aside from the fact that naked people having sex is fun to look at, there is good money to be made and I can spend time with my family.... Can take vacations and still get paid
I can blow off working for weeks at a time and still get paid
I don't have to wait til pay day to get paid since I get checks or epassport almost every day

CONS:
Accounting is a fucking nightmare
Income verification can be a difficult discussion when seeking mortgages/financing

That's sort of a gray area for me.
My first reaction to it is: "It's not anybodies business what I do for a living"
But I'm not sure if that's an honest reaction or one formed because of the stigma attached to what I do.
Maybe that's why it's cool to go to industry shows where you can be openly proud of your accomplishments with like-minded people? I guess it would be pretty cool to be able to tell your neighbor how happy you are with the DP scene you shot that had the lighting just right. heh-heh-Robbie

The reason I love this industry is I've always felt you're only held back by your own limitations.
The only thing I dislike about the industry is its the biggest small world there is. People lurk, spy, meddle and they love to steal. I create, and its difficult for me to completely separate emotion from business. I also like to think of myself as a cautious person with a thick skin, so when someone does manage to steal from me, I take it very personally.
I don't think so. Unless you're putting your first and last name out on press releases you're fine. Almost every adult company has a mainstream friendly DBA. Don't lie, but just be mindful on your wording in your resume.

I'm good at what I do and I have never worked has hard for anyone in the past as I do for myself with my own company, which translates to better customer service and happier clients.
Con's:
There are no con's, only opportunities for more pro's that you have not yet found out how to convert. What you perceive to be pro's and con's are in fact just another form of traffic (in this case, traffic of opportunities), and the name of the game is still finding out how to convert.
