Comus Thumbs Disappointment (Are they still in business?)

On the comus thumbs website when you click to register the script it says:

This product is no longer for sale or has been disabled due to a terms of service violation (Click Bank)
If you attempt to access the support forum it says:

The forums will be up again shortly.... while we move servers and fix some major problems...
I ended up registering the script using PayPal, figuring I'd receive some type of automated response with my paid license key. I received no such response. In the past 48 hours I've submitted a support ticket, e-mailed them directly and sent messages over ICQ, to no avail. I am very disappointed with the lack of professionalism of this company.

Does anyone know if they're still in business?

Comus went tits up about a year ago. There was a massive hack attack against all comus users and I don't think comus scripts ever recovered. The guy who owned it, tony, stopped caring about it years ago from my experience.

true about the massive hack attack, false about not recovering, alltho tony doesnt seem to give a rats ass anymore, im one of the few that will provide new and old customers with support whereever i can.

I dont have access to the server else the box would have been cleaned by now and forums live again.

I do have access to the code for emergency fixes and repairs.

as long as your host is topnotch you dont have anything more to wrroy about with comus as with other scripts.

in fact since the focus is taken of comus i havent heard of any probs anymore.

imho, theres a few scripts that will be more subject to hacks and shit happening atm then comus, not cause they shitty scripted or anything but because they are the most populair scripts around.

why would it be bluff, lets do the math, hacker gets access to a few small shitty comus sites, or a few huge st/tgpx/stream rotator sites. which one do you think will likely be hacked, comus or one of the bigger dogs? its really simple math man.

it's a shame, Tony was a good programmer
Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants
                                  think about that

well mate im still here, i can still issue keys, i still give support to users and theres still a few big users of the script. So comus is still here just not a big subject to targetted hacks anymore as theres simply a lot less traffic going thru comus, and to the hacker the only concern is get as much traffic as you can. The other threee scripts have by far big numbers going thru them, so most likely they will be hit faster.

Comus was fucking awesome back in the days. I used it for years. It was the best tgp script at the time that offered everything I needed. Cropped thumbnails for about 600,000+ galleries with it. Even had a spare license that I never used.
I no longer run that tgp, so the whole comus folder is chmodded to zero on my server. As far as I understand, the problem with comus was that the permissions that were always suggested by support ("just chmod everything to 777") invited the hackers in. I could be wrong, but I think you should be fine as long as the permissions are set right.

it was chmod to 777 to load it, then reset after you got it running, can't tell you how many scripts I set up for people

the problem with all hacks we had was with one or two files that had a problem, one of the hacks was on a file that was obsolete and coded out of it (the dependency of files on that one file was amazing) and the last hack was someone that found a way in thru the left side menu, which to my knowledge was chmod 644. Those were the real problems with comus.

The last hack was taken care off by removing the menu.php file completly, and moving a few files around to protected areas.

Right now comus uses basic authentication along with the normal login box.

So comus is still here just not a big subject to targetted hacks anymore as theres simply a lot less traffic going thru comus, and to the hacker the only concern is get as much traffic as you can. The other threee scripts have by far big numbers going thru them, so most likely they will be hit faster.
