I am forty-one years old, very white, born and raised in the United States. Six months ago we set off the home alarm by accident and the local police rolled right up to my doorstep - great, wonderful, please protect my home. They ask for my ID and pulled out my California driver's license. My heart skipped a beat when they asked if I had a second form of ID.
I don't care what race you are, I don't care what color you are, and I don't care if you fuck puppies after the sun goes down - When a police officer asks you for a second form of ID, the only correct response is "Yes officer".
