Any of you ever had an ulcer?

Okay, I need some of your opinions; does any of you ever had an ulcer?

Im not quite sure if that is what I've had but I've been having terrible burns and upset stomach feelings since a full week now, to the point that its hurting my back even. The pain is trully disturbing me to this point and it seems the only thing that helps is either a hot bath or a glass of eno... I've been drinking that shit almost 4 times a day now-lol.

Anyway, someone told me it might be an ulcer... Any of you had that before? What kind of symptoms did you get? Any tips to soothe the pain? Can you get an ulcer at 25? I dont have much time to go see a doc til next week.

    Thanks for your help!

Dude, stop drinking, coffee, any type of soft drink. Take a lot of malox and pepto. Lay off all spicy food, fast food, greasy food. and go to the doctor. Cause if you dont treat it properly it will just get much worst.

Dude, you are not suppoed to take pepto for an ulcer, says it right on the bottle. If it hurts in your back, its at its worst and could fuck you up, I'd go to the doc before next week. I have one but it does not hurt my back yet. I got a prescription for prilosec until my doc appointment

I've had stomach lesions before. The upset stomach feeling could very well be from bleeding in your stomach (that's what happened to me, I had a scope done to confirm).

My symptoms came on quick, and I went directly to the emergency room. Even at that, I almost needed a transfusion.

I don't mean to sound alarmist, but this is NOT something to play around with. People can and do die from internal bleeding in their gastro tracts.

After being on prevacid for 3 months, I had a second scope done that showed I was 100% healed up. Doc took me off of medication and I've been on a normal diet ever since without any problems (I'm enjoying a nice glass of wine right now as a matter of fact). Doc's not sure what caused it but I'm 100% now (I had a bad habit of eating 1 big meal a day and that's about it, Doc thought that might be the cause. I eat 3 meals a day now).

If you let it go, the lesions can perforate your stomach entirely, and stomach juices can then leak into your body cavity. Then you're in for some dramas. Not something that happened to me thank goodness, and it's not something I'd want to have happen to you either.

Please, please, go see your doctor. He'll probably refer you to a gastroenterologist, who will probably do an endoscope to diagnose you.

                Don't wait.

Please Note: I am not a doctor, and am just relaying my personal experiences.

                  you know,

sometimes not knowing what you have only result in getting worse, a psychological thing. but when know what it is, it will relax your mind and then when the mind is free, everything will be alright again.

The symptoms you're experiencing could very well be indicative of a peptic ulcer.

Holly shit, now that's scary HOw long did it take until it got that bad after you had the symptoms?

Yesterday I went to my pharmacist who gave me some antiacid pills but didnt seemed alarmed that it was going on for like almost a week now. I gotta say the pills do help for now...

He said to go see a doc if the symptoms persists for 2-3 extra days. Its complicated for me to see one this week because I have to work on daytime and im moving to another place at the same time

I sure hope my case isnt as bad as yours... Thanks for your input!

Sounds like you might have an ulcer depends on how long you have the pain, does it act up when you eat spicy foods, theres a lot of factors in there, i had them at age 17 so it is very possible for you to have them at 25. In my case it was almost a constant pain like someone was twisting a knife in my stomach or someone lit a fire in my stomach.

They put me Nexium and about a month later i started to feel better, only to have them pop back up about 6 months later. After they came back i took the medication again and they haven't come back since it's been about 5 years now.

I would recommend staying away from hot foods, coffeee, or anything else that could irratate your stomach.

I can't remember the exact symptoms that I had, but yes, you can get one at 25. I was about 12 when I had one.

Get a blood test for the H. pylori virus. More then 80% of the worlds population is infected with it and most don't know it. http://www.siberiantigernaturals.com/pepticulcerfaq.htm.

2 doctors won the nobel prize for proving that a bacteria can live in your stomach last year. The symptoms are the same as an ulcer. I had it for an estimated 4 years thinking i had a stress ulcer and found out it was h pylori. You take some anti boitics and it goes away. You get this virus by eating contaminated foods, usually meats. One of the biggest sources is from eating deli meats where the cutting machine is not cleaned properly.
