Hey all, I haven't posted here in awhile because of IRL issues. Some of you might remember me from a few months ago, during my pitiful begging thread. :D Anyways...

We gave up on trying to keep the house. We just didn't have enough income, and with no help, it was a losing battle. So what we did was fixed up the old family home in Camuy (which isn't large enough for all of us, but we do what we have to do to survive in this world). It's not much but at least it gave us someplace to go so we didn't end up on the street. My wife has been working for the Census while I was repairing the house, so both of us have been working full-time to keep everyone alive. So now that we have a secure home (as much as she hates the place), we're going to get all of our debts cleared up and then find a better place to live.

The blog site I had started back then is still up, but I have not updated it since I started working on this house full-time. But now, since things have settled in and everything's back on track, I'm going to be moving forward with it at long last. And eventually, I will be able to open the other new site I'm planning.

To those of you who thought I was a scammer...well, I can certainly understand why you'd think that. This isn't exactly an industry of trust; it's often quite the opposite. There were a lot of bad circumstances during that time that are now done and over with. But I do appreciate the suggestions some people here on GFY gave me; some of them were quite useful and helped us work out a deal with the owner. We ended up being able to stay longer than we expected, which helped with repairing this old house.

In the end, it turned out good that we did not keep the large house...not long after I realized that we would have to give it up, I took a good long look at the house's architecture and discovered that the place is actually starting to fall apart...the supports are cracking, the concrete is starting to come out of the ceiling, etc. All signs of both a leaky roof and an unsafe foundation. I had taken my level to some of the supports when we first moved in and noticed that they were slightly off. I didn't think much of it, because houses aren't always 100% level. But I did it again during this recent process and found that it was way more off than when we first got there. Then it hit me...that's why the owner was selling it off so cheaply...he KNOWS that the house is doomed and wanted to pawn it off to someone else...to make it someone else's problem. Someone's going to spend $300,000 on a house that is going to collapse in about five years. So really, fate was looking out for us again, and once again, we survived. :D
