If a sponsor was that late that I was promoting and didn't answer emails/ICQs I wouldn't threaten to remove the links - I'D DO IT.
It's silly to me that people just keep promoting companies that have been known to not pay WMs and ignore correspondence. There are many solid companies that have been around years that have never missed one payment.
