Well....I have some haters that like to ride my ass because I use Photoshop to fine-tune and "enhance" my pictures. Is this really a bitchable offense? How boring must your life be to publicly complain about the fact that I use Photoshop to enhance my work? I mean seriously.......
Pick up any magazine on the newstand and the pictures are color corrected & retouched. Do you think that Ansel Adams pictures came out of his camera looking the way they do now? No! He would manipulate the processing of his film and he would manipulate the printing of the picture. Photographers have been manipulating their work ever sense they figured out that they could. If I snap up the contrast, fine-tune the color & saturation and remove a few blemishes on the models skin....am I not considered a Photographer anymore? And if I'm not considered a Photographer anymore....what exactly am I? Whatever it is that I do, whatever you want to call me, whatever I'm categorized as - I'm having fun doing it and my clients love paying me to do it. And...their members must be loving it because I keep getting more and more assignments. That's the bottom line and the only thing that really matters here
Anyhowz, I wanted to post a couple of before-n-after shots so that people can see for themselves exactly how much color correcting & retouching that I do to my pictures.
This is of course the very beautiful Jana Foxy that I photographed for Danni.com a few weeks ago. I posted some of these here a week or so back...and I had a lot of positive feedback on the images. Contrary to what some of the haters might think - these were not that heavily retouched. The pics on the left are the "before" shots and the pics on the right have been color corrected, retouched & sharpened. As everyone can see - the retouched pics are not that different from the "before" shots. I warmed up the skin tone a bit, snapped up the contrast and did some minor retouching and enhancements. In fact....a client could take those "before" shots and resize them and load them right up to their members area if they wanted to.
And the last thing that I want my haters to know is that I don't do any retouching for any of my clients. I deliver to the client a DVD of all the images "unretouched". The clients decide how much retouching they want and they take care of that themselves. The only retouching that I do are for the pics that I post on the boards every so often.
So to all my haters that don't consider me a Photographer because I use Photoshop to color correct & retouch the pictures that I post on the boards....you really need to find something else to bitch about.
